Just wanted to say thanks again for such a memorable experience for us and especially our boys. I have to admit that before the actual lessons, I had questioned my wife about the value of a two-hour lesson. I didn’t think that there was any way they would learn to surf in such a brief session. I was amazed to see them both doing it so naturally after just 30 minutes under your instruction and guidance. Wow! I thought you might appreciate this brief YouTube version of a movie I put together for the memory of that experience. The credits are worth watching at the end.

I just took a lesson this past weekend with David Schmidt and wanted to thank you and him for such a great time. My daughter Lizzie and her friend Jeanine had lessons this week with Mike. We wanted to write to tell you how much we loved the experience and especially Mike. He made it work! I observed another group from another program and they where not EVEN as well prepared as we were. So, I just wanted to say thanks for the great lessons and the well run program and especially thanks to Mike who is a great teacher and human being!

Please pass along my thanks and gratitude to your instructors. Everyone that did the lesson had a fantastic time. I watched from the cliff, and was blown away at how many first timers stood up. I think one guy was up within 2 minutes. I’ll definitely recommend your school in the future.

Team Richard Schmidt,
I had always wanted to try surfing and had mentioned it to a girl I was dating. As time went on, and she and I became closer, I was surprised to find that she had given me a gift certificate to the Richard Schmidt School of Surfing. Between the months that I had several silly reasons to not use it I misplaced the gift certificate and never was able to find it. To my surprise and hers, when she contacted you all about this detail not only were you receptive, but incredibly kind. Without a fuss she said, you sent a reissue to replace the one she had purchased like a year earlier. Are you guys for real? Cool!

Cut to last week – We all live together now, Diane (the girlfriend) and her children Ryan and Courtney. I had been thinking we should do something together and surfing seemed the obvious all around experience. The kids both seemed excited to try it and so I sent an email to inquire. Our email was responded to quickly and we called to schedule a lesson.

Our lesson was yesterday and I admit it was even better than I could had expected! Our instructor was named Richard and great about making everyone feel comfortable as well as keeping each of us in a positive and fun mood. Before any of us had even attempted to catch a wave, we were already discussing how much more comfortable we were than we had expected to be as the wet suits kept us warm even on a very overcast morning in the water when on the beach we were all in layers. Between the fact that we were all so comfortable, liked the instructor, got up on our first try and were enjoying the sharing of one another’s successes,this was a great experience all around. To top it off, being so close to such wild life was a thrill. Between the cormorants diving, the sea otters frolicking around and a grey sea lion popping his head up and around us, we were having a blast.

This is a thank you as well as a nod of approval. Please know that we will forever remember this fantastic day and how we have already began to share our satisfaction with the Richard Schmidt Surfing School. Between the standout customer relations by reissuing a gift certificate, the great customer service by getting back to us to set up the lesson, the personal attention and wonderful support offered by our coach, I don’t think we could have had a better time.
